SUMMARY
A software engineer focused on infrastructure, tooling, backends, and ETL. Has spent around seven years building infrastructure, DevOps, and backends. Builds processes and tooling to give small teams leverage to do more with less; inspired by the needs of their own overly ambitious projects. Writes mostly open-source Go, Rust, TypeScript and Terraform, and recently data pipelines in HCL.
HISTORY
Consultant at a managed-services and cloud-consulting company, Redapt; placed at client sites.
- Worked with external teams to build custom tooling and infrastructure.
- Built tooling in Go + Nomad for Apple Wallets and Payments.
- Built out Nix modules and packaged internal apps for the Apple Nix community.
One half of a two-person infrastructure team.
- Built AWS infrastructure for core services with Terraform and Nomad; migrated off Beanstalk and other legacy backends.
- Built internal and open-source tooling to automate operational overhead, including
frameable/log-parsefor running SQL queries against real-time logs; contributed toframeable/aviary.sh. - Built and maintained GitHub Actions CI, running self-hosted runners on their own capacity.
- Contributed Playwright tests to probe staging before releases.
- Killed tech debt and migrated services to TypeScript, keeping more code maintainable.
Data / Marketing Engineering team.
- Built the ETL engine and data-provider backends the marketing team used to optimize ad delivery across thousands of campaigns.
- Led a refactor/rewrite of internal data-backend microservices, improving performance and maintainability.
- Moved CI from Jenkins to GitHub Actions, cutting flake and infra-management overhead.
- Refactored AWS SAML auth tooling ( originally human-only ) to run in CI pipelines.
Ops team.
- Built and maintained Terraform infrastructure-as-code to provision AWS resources; led migration off legacy CloudFormation and in-house tooling.
- Built tooling to accelerate and monitor incident response, dropped resolution times.
- Rebuilt SSL-certificate automation covering thousands of customer websites, keeping them online.
- Worked cross-team to meet infrastructure needs and smooth developer experience.
- Killed Python 2 tech debt across in-house tooling.
PROJECTS
Pipelines are described in .psy files (HCL) as producers ->
transformers -> consumers, built from a small standard library and extended
with Go plugins that are cloned, compiled, and run as gRPC
subprocesses. A content-addressed plugin store plus per-file lockfiles make
builds reproducible. The psyduck-etl org holds the plugin SDK and
connectors ( amqp, mysql, ifunny, and an LLM extraction via
inference plugin ). In active development.

NEAT ( NeuroEvolution of Augmenting Topologies ) generalized well beyond the original paper: genome representation is pluggable via traits. Speciation, crossover, CTRNN / feedforward / binary networks. Includes a pretty cool proc-macro crate for parametric tests over trait implementers, criterion benchmarks + profiling, and NES compat.
A free and open-source social platform built from microservices on Kubernetes, focused on content searchability. Go backend, React Native frontend, entire infrastructure provisioned with Terraform + terraform-compose - deployable to a fresh cloud environment in one command.
A years-long community effort to reverse-engineer, document, and write tooling for the iFunny API: the REST API, plus the v1 chat ( Sendbird ) and v2 chat ( WAMP ) backends. The early libraries picked up the most external traction of anything published. Built ifunny-etl, a discovery + snapshot-everything pipeline - the original problem psyduck was built to solve.
VOLUNTEER
Infra/ops for a fan-made, volunteer-run MMO. Building Nix pipelines for their Panda3D fork and Python game implementation.
